摘要： 全球番石榴的產量（Psidium guajava L.）一直在穩定增加中。由於貿易障礙的消除，使得本省農民面臨外來生產者的競爭壓力持續增大。台灣生產鮮食用番石榴的中南部地區，因氣候條件的關係，需有標準栽培措施使農民能更確切預估開花及果實成熟期，以提高他們的競爭力。為了更瞭解修剪技術對番石榴生產及產量的關係，本論文回顧了台灣番石榴生產之情形。此外，另進行二項田間試驗以研究修剪時間及強度對番石榴生長及開花的影響。據觀察，台灣進行商業生產的番石榴果農用來調節產期以便於在高需求量時期生產所採用的方法各有不同。再者，果農所種植的品種如珍珠拔、水晶拔及世紀拔等成熟期皆不相同。修剪時間對開花具顯著的影響，而修剪的強度對結果數有顯著的影響。Global production of guava (Psidium guajava L.) has been steadily increasing. Local farmers are now facing ever-increasing competition from foreign producers, due to the dismantling of trade barriers. Under the climatic conditions of central and southern Taiwan, where guavas are grown for the fresh fruit market, standard practices are necessary for farmers to be able to accurately predict flowering and fruit maturity, which will improve their competitive ability. To better understand the relationship of pruning strategies to production and productivity in guava, a review of Taiwanese guava production practices was carried out. Moreover, two field experiments on the effect of time of pruning and severity of pruning on growth and fruiting of guava were done. It was observed that in Taiwan, commercial guava farmers have adopted differing strategies for crop regulation to adapt production to the periods of high demand. Also, cultivars used by these farmers; namely Pearl, Crystal and Century were found to have different maturation periods. Time of pruning had a significant effect on flowering. Severity of pruning had a significant effect on fruit number.
